Taiwan is a mountainous island with a rich and historic culture. Its people are famed for being inviting and kind, and its food is phenomenal. Many come for its landscapes, natural wonders, and festive street markets that can not be found anywhere else! What’s more, Taiwan has some of the best teaching opportunities in Asia. The low cost of living paired with the high paying teaching positions means that teachers can enjoy a high standard of living.

Career Development
International teaching experience can make you much more appealing to employers if and when you choose to return home. It signals to them that you are able to adapt to new teaching environments and to work with teachers and students from diverse backgrounds. Furthermore, the schools we work with are all highly respected institutions that pride themselves on offering their students unique academic offerings. These offerings include AP and IB courses, cultural trips around Taiwan and abroad, and stimulating club activities. By joining one of these schools, you can be a part of these and perhaps help develop new programs which will help you develop as a teacher on and off paper.
Mountains, Seascapes, and Temples Oh My!
Taiwan has the highest density of peaks over 3,000 meters in the world. It is about the same size as the Netherlands. This means that no matter where you are in the country you are close to mountains. Many of our teachers spend their weekends hiking and camping along Taiwan’s many trails. Don’t want to carry a tent? That is ok! Many of the trails have comfortable governmentally run cabins.
More of a beach person? Taiwan has plenty of options for you. Want to scuba dive with turtles? Explore Green Island, Penghu, or Xiaoliuqiu.
For city lovers, you can spend your weekends exploring temples, night markets, and skyscrapers. Ask us for the best places to get traditional foot massages!
Learn Traditional Chinese
Taiwan is the ideal place to study Chinese because the official language is Traditional Mandarin. There are several excellent options for learning Chinese. You can either study at a language institute for only a few hours a week or sign-up for a more intensive course at a university. Each option is very affordable. Feel free to reach out to our team for advice on which option would be best for you!
